1. Introduction

Time Travel - Canakkale 1915 ("the App") is an interactive film application where your decisions shape the course of the story. The App is designed for users of all ages and presents a historical narrative experience set during the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. We are committed to transparency and your privacy.

2. Information We Collect

The App collects only the minimum data necessary to provide its services. We do NOT collect analytics data, we do NOT track your behavior, and we do NOT use advertising SDKs.

Authentication Data

Anonymous authentication identifier used to save your game progress. No email, name, or personal identifiers are required.

Game Progress

Your in-game choices, chapter progress, and settings are stored locally on your device and synced to provide a seamless experience.

Photos (Optional Feature)

Only if you use the "Create Memory" feature: the photo you upload is sent to our secure servers for AI-based artistic transformation. See Section 4 for full details.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for:

  • Saving and restoring your game progress
  • Generating AI-enhanced historical images from your photos (only when you choose to use this feature)
  • Storing generated images in your personal gallery within the App

We do NOT use your data for:

  • Advertising or marketing purposes
  • User behavior tracking or analytics
  • Selling or sharing with third parties for their own purposes
  • Training or fine-tuning AI models
  • Profiling or automated decision-making

4. AI Photo Generation ("Create Memory")

The "Create Memory" feature allows you to upload a photo and receive an AI-generated image that places you in a historical scene from the Gallipoli Campaign. Here is exactly what happens:

Processing Pipeline

  1. You select a template and upload your photo within the App
  2. Your photo is securely transmitted (via HTTPS/TLS encryption) to our cloud processing servers
  3. An AI model transforms your photo into a historical-themed image
  4. The generated image is stored on our content delivery network (CDN) for you to view, download, and share
  5. Your original uploaded photo is deleted from our servers immediately after processing is complete

Important Disclosures

  • ✓Your photos are used solely for artistic transformation, not for facial recognition, identification, or biometric analysis
  • ✓No facial geometry, faceprint, or biometric template is extracted or stored
  • ✓Your photos are never used to train or improve AI models
  • ✓Original photos are not stored permanently — they are processed and deleted
  • ✓This feature is entirely optional; the App functions fully without it

5. Data Storage & Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Authentication is managed through Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud infrastructure)
  • Generated images are stored on Cloudflare R2 CDN with global edge distribution
  • Photo processing servers use HMAC-based authentication for request verification
  • Uploaded files undergo binary validation to prevent malicious uploads
  • Rate limiting is enforced to prevent abuse

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services to operate:

Firebase by Google

Authentication, Cloud Firestore (database), Cloud Functions. Google Privacy Policy

Cloudflare R2

Content delivery and storage of generated images. Cloudflare Privacy Policy

Modal.com

GPU-based AI image processing. Photos are processed transiently and not retained on their infrastructure after generation.

We do NOT use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking services.

7. Data Retention

  • Game progress: Stored locally on your device. Deleted when you reset progress or uninstall the App.
  • Original uploaded photos: Deleted immediately after AI processing is complete. Not stored permanently.
  • Generated images: Retained as long as your account exists. You can request deletion at any time.
  • Authentication data: Maintained as long as your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our third-party service providers operate. These transfers are protected by:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as required by GDPR
  • Service provider data processing agreements
  • Industry-standard encryption for all data in transit

9. Children's Privacy

Time Travel is an interactive historical film suitable for all ages. The App presents educational content about the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915 through an interactive narrative experience.

The App does not require personal information to function. Anonymous authentication is used automatically without collecting names, emails, or other identifying information. The AI photo generation feature is optional and requires user-initiated action.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete such data.

10. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR and KVKK), you have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — Request deletion of your personal data
  • Restriction — Request restriction of processing
  • Portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object — Object to the processing of your personal data
  • Withdraw Consent — Withdraw consent at any time for consent-based processing

You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Requests will be responded to within 30 days.

11. Data Selling

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party, under any circumstances.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
